Paralympian Jason Smyth Visits Oakgrove IPSN
Local athlete and paralympian Jason Smyth visited Oakgroev IPSN today to talk to the chilren of the school. He took part in an assembly and was filmed as part of a documentary to be shown on the BBC.
Jason won gold in both the 100m and 200m Bejing Paralympics, 2008.
Jason is hoping to compete at both the Olympics and Paralympic Games in 2012 and after running an Olympic B Standard of 10.22 this season, he is on his way to achieving his goal.

Jason Smyth's Facts
Smyth's vision is affected by a condition known as Stargardt's Disease. The Northern Ireland man won two gold medals at the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing. Smyth became the first paralympic athlete ever to compete at a European Championships in 2010. He trains in Florida.
