Primary 7 explore Victorian Toys and make spinning tops
15th May 2013
Today in history the primary seven children were learning all about Victorian toys. We enjoyed playing with Jacks, cup and ball and spinning tops. We learnt that rich Victorian children would have played with rocking horses or a doll's house. For Christmas, poor Victorian children would have received a block of wood, coal or an orange. If poor Victorian children received an expensive toy they were often not allowed to play with it. Children were not allowed to play with toys on Sundays unless it was a religious toy like Noah's Ark.
